My 5 Favourite Prince E.A Videos

prince-ea-best-videos

Have you ever heard of this guy? Prince EA. Because if you haven’t, it’s time you did.

Real name Richard Williams, he defines himself as an American rapper, spoken word artist, music video director and rights activist.

Busy bee I know, but the messages this guy delivers really is sensational.

I don’t know about you, but personally I feel some motivational speakers sometimes come across as annoying, or they’re often hard to relate too…

But he strips it back to basics, using day to day issues you can relate too and uses clever wordplay to deliver his message.

Here’s a quick post on my 5 favourite motivational videos from Prince E.A himself…

Note: Pay attention. Don’t watch these videos half heartedly, and don’t watch them while shifting your focus elsewhere. Watch them and pay attention closely to the message being delivered.

Starting from my 5th personal favourite…

5. How To Get Rid Of Stress In 60 Seconds

My 2 Cents: You create your own stress, and you’re in control of managing and deciding the impact of stressful situations. A great saying from the video is  “A thought comes and it goes, but it stays and it grows…” but shifting mindset to the present moment allows you to remove worries from the past that might be building up. Your initial reaction to this video might be that the advice he shares is ‘too good to be true’… but thinking logically about what stress is and how it builds up is all down to you. You control your thoughts and your mind, so therefore you control your reaction to stress and the management of it.

4. Working To Live Or Living To Work

My 2 Cents: One of his latest videos, this video is a real favourite of mine. After deciding to quit a typical 9-5 job 6 years ago, I’ve always strived for the lifestyle working online brings rather than an income. But it’s very easy to build a routine around work, and it’s very easy to find yourself struggling to switch off from an ‘I need to work’ mind state. In the past I’ve been labelled a ‘workaholic’, and rightly so, and I believe being able to step away from work and focus on the finer things in life leads to better creativity and a fresher mind set when returning to work. It could be as easy as switching off at lunch times to do something you enjoy outside of work, or it could be building a morning routine without access to technology.

My favourite quote? “How many moments have you lost thinking about the next one… thinking that when you get this or get there that will be the best one.”

3. Why I Got Rid Of Most Of My Friends

My 2 Cents: Who you surround yourself with has a huge impact on your overall mind state. Have you ever felt positive after watching 5 minutes of the news? I very much doubt it. The people you surround yourself with and the information you choose to listen too helps create your thoughts and overall mind state. Surrounding yourself with positive people, and deciding to watch and read positive stories over negative ones will have a huge impact on your quality of life. Watch these videos and tell me you don’t feel more positive and more motivated than you did before you landed on this blog post? Determine the friends, the family, the work colleagues and the people you want to surround yourself with and stop allowing yourself to be bombarded with negativity through media.

2. Can We Auto-Correct Humanity?

My 2 Cents: As you probably already know, I’m a sucker for technology and the technology we have available to us today is in my eyes nothing but positive. But not being able to switch off, and not being able to enjoy life as it is really is a problem a lot of people need to address. People complain about the lack of time but we’re making ourselves busy, and social networks allow us to bombard ourselves with information quicker than we’ve ever had the chance too before. Have you ever been able to stand in a room on your own without having to look at your phone? Have you ever walked from work to the train station without the urge to look at your phone? In fact, how long does it take you each morning before you check your social networks or emails? This is his most video to date and I can see why…

My favourite quote? I’ve got too many from this video, but nice and simple I like: “No longer do I want to spoil a precious moment by recording it with a phone… I’m just gonna keep them. I don’t want to take a picture of my meals anymore… I’m just gonna eat them.”

1. Why Most People Die Before Age 25

My 2 Cents: This is extremely powerful, and it’s a video I try to show to all of my classes when lecturing. Everybody has a dream and everyone has a passion but through a lack of confidence or being told it’s unattainable we find ourselves stuck in a routine doing something we don’t enjoy. The resources to start your own business, and to make your own money doing something you love are there for us now. Maybe it wasn’t so easy 10 years ago, but there’s enough information and people already turning their dreams and passions into an income that there really isn’t any excuses. It’s time to rethink what ‘being realistic’ means with the opportunities you have today…

So there we have it, what one’s your favourite?
